11/6 State Championship We had perfect weather for the State Championship Meet. We placed 12th overall. The girls performed really well. Despite being hampered with some nagging issues, Evelyn led the team with a 69th place finish with a time of 21:32. Megan was our second finisher in a personal best of 21:57 which was good for 90th place. Also in the top 100 was Mary with a time of 22:15. After missing the first half of the season with an injury Grace was able to come back with of season-best time of 22:36 which was good for 107th place. Zoey also ran a best of 23:09 which placed her in 123rd place. Lauren ran a best of 24:44 which brought her in at 151st place. Congratulations on a great season.

10/2 KC Classic. As usual, the KC Classic is one of the biggest meets we go to each year. The day started off foggy but turned into a great morning for racing. This year the girls in the C Team race go us started. They were led by Abby followed closley by El. Angela was next, in her first race of the season, followed by Mel. The varsity girls were led by Evelyn followed by Mary, Megan, Zoey and Lauren. All but three of the girls that ran today ran season bests. Congratulations to all that competed todya. Tuesday we will head to Excelsior Springs.

9/18 Kris Solsberg Invitational. We had great weather for the third meet of the season. Nearly everyone ran a season best. El and Zoey had the biggest improvements, both ran more than two minutes faster today than their previous best times this year. Anna and Mel both improved their season best by about a minute and a half. Lauren not only set a season best but a lifetime. Evelyn missed tying her lifetime best by 1 second. Congratulations to all that competed today. The jv team will be competing at the Grandview Invitational on Thursday while the varsity will travel to Rim Rock Farm in Lawrence on Saturday.

9/11 Ray-Pec Invitational. We had great weather at the Ray-Pec meet for the first time in many years. The results we equally spectacular. The varsity started things off with a win in the small school division scoring 43 points. Evelyln led the way with a 2nd place finish. Mary was 9th, Megan 12th, Zoey 24th and Lauren 26th. The jv did not have a full team but was led by Anna’s 3rd place finish. Following Anna, Abby was 4th, El 5th and Mel 6th. Congratulations to all that competed. We will be heading to the Kris Solsberg Invitational next week.

9/4 - Tim Nixon Invitational. There was a threat of rain and lightning all morning but it held off for the most part. The weather ended up being very good, just a little humid. The varsity kicked off the season at 8:00. Lauren, Megan and Evelyn toed the line for the Storm in the first race of the season. In the Silver Division (small school), Evelyn led the way placing 5th, Megan 18th and Lauren 39th. In the jv race, we had two freshmen running their first high school race, Zoey Chambers and Mary Schumm. They both had great debut races. Mary won placed first in the division and Zoey 3rd, not bad for your first race. In the C-Team race we had Mel Laubscher, El Loveland and Abby Pantaenius. It was also Mel and El’s first races. Abby led the way for the C-Team placing 70th, El was 76th and Mel was 84th. Congratualations to all who competed on a great first meet. We will head to Ray-Pec next week.

8/28 - Time Trial. We had beuatiful weather for our time trial this morning. We have a small team this year (just 11 runners) but everyone ran well. Looking forward to our first real meet next week at the Tim Nixon Invitational in Liberty.
