9/24 Rim Rock Farm - This is the nicest course we visit all year. The morning started off perfect, but it warmed up by the time our race started at nearly noon. There were 45 teams entered (36 complete) with nearly 300 individual finishers. Mary led the way with a 51st place finish. Ava was our second finisher in 81st place followed closely by Grace in 88th place. Faith was 124th, Megan 148 and Lauren was 200th. We finished 12th as a team out of the 36 comlete teams. We back at Ray-Pec next week for the KC Classic.

9/17 Kris Solsberg Invitational - We had really good weather for this time of the year. Five girls ran their best times of the year on the flat course at Lee's Summit North High School. Also, everyone that ran here last year ran faster this year. The average improvemet was just over 49 seconds for those five girls. Mary led the varsity team with a 19th place finish overall. The next three (Megan, Ava and Grace) were packed tightly, separated by just 10 seconds. Faith was our fifth finisher in 61 place. Zoey finished in 24:00 and Lauren ran a season best of 25:38. Abby placed 72nd in the jv race running 29:03, nearly a minute and a half faster than last year. Mo broke 30 minutes for the second week with a time of 29:55. Next week the varsity will travel to Rim Rock in Lawrence.

9/10 Ray-Pec Invitational - We had a very successful day in the sense that everyone that ran at this meet last year, ran faster this year. The varsity started the day off. Mary once again led the team running 21:35 which was good for 4 place in the Small School Division. Megan ran a 23:14 which put her in 13th place. Ava was right behind her placing 14th in 23:15. Grace and Zoey were also close running 23:57 and 23:59, respectively which was good for 20th and 21st place. Faith place 26th running 24:24. Their effort was good enough for 2nd place as a team. Mo and Abby competed in the jv race placing 5th and 6th, respectively. Their times were 29:52 and 29:59. That means everyone was under 30 minutes. A great second meet. We're headed to Lee's Summit North next week for the Kris Solsberg Inv.

9/3 Tim Nixon Invitational - We once again kicked off the season at the Tim Nixon Invitational. The meet was held this year at the Capitol Federal Sports Complex in Liberty. The course was flat as it could be. The varsity team got us started competing in the Silver (small school) Division. Mary Schumm led the team with an 8th place finish in a personal best time of 20:34. Rounding out the varsity was Megan Kelly in 28th place, Grace St. Peter in 35th place, Zoey Chambers in 44th place and Lauren Smith in 51 place. We had three freshmen running in their first high school cross country meet: Faith Carlson, Mo Symanski and Ava Wickenhauser. Faith and Ava ran in the jv race and placed 21st and 13th, respectively. Mo competed in the C-team race with Abby Pantaenius. Mo placed 79th and Abby was 83rd. It was a great start to the season. Looking forward to Ray-Pec next week.

8/27 Time trial - We had great weather for the time trial this year. Almost every girl ran faster this year than last. The senior parents had on some great shirts. Hopefully, we'll see them again.
